Back in 2001 when we found out we were expecting Jack we lived in a tiny (but adorable) cottage in Zach's Mom, Judi's yard. Our little home consisted of a small kitchen, a bedroom, a closet and a bathroom. When the thought of adding to our family in this tiny living situation cam to mind I panicked a bit (okay a lot) not being able to buy at the time Judi and Ed graciously allowed us to build two bedrooms onto the cottage, which was wonderful.
But another problem arouse, "How would we furnish the place?" That's when "The Nan" (my grandmother) came into the picture. She had just bought a new home and was buying all new furniture for her living room. We inherited a love seat and recliner from her. The love seat matched perfectly! The recliner, another story, it was Burgundy, not in our color scheme, which consisted mostly of Greens, Creams and White. So after about a year we decided to have it recovered in a lovely green upholstery.
Since then we have bought all new living room furniture to accommodate our much larger living room in our new place and for Mother's day I requested a new recliner, Zach denied that request, he has grown sooo in love with "his chair" even though the delicate upholstery had been wore down to the cotton batting and soiled to the point that even after being professionally cleaned it did it no justice. So, yet again we had the chair recovered. This time the amazing Steven, from San Luis Custom Upholstery,(who had recovered it the previous time) completely rebuilt and changed the entire look of the beloved chair. The only problem now is incorporating brown into our color scheme!
