One of my favorite things about living on the Central Coast. While a patiently await my vegetable garden to mature I have many roadside stands to choose from.

An Artist at work.

Jack tonight while we were cooking dinner. We hadn't had the easel set up in years and he set it all up and got to work.

Ideas from other Blogs.

I have a whole slew of blogs that I enjoy gawking at. I should "follow" each and every one so I can remember them. I usually stumble across one while looking at another and so on and so forth. Yesterday after the boys were asleep and I was in the middle of a late night "should be going to bed so I can face the next work day" cleaning binge I took a break to gawk online. I stumbled across a German Blog which i cannot remember the name of or link to. I could not read a single word of this blog but the pictures of random items in this woman's household were beautiful. Crisp, clean, vintage with lots of white. Just up my alley. I came across a photo on said blog of a rusty old bird cage perched on a stack of old books and instantly loved it. Then I remembered I had a rusty old birdcage on my back patio serving no purpose what so ever. I also had a little spot next to my fireplace that needed a little something. I didn't have the old books but I did have two vintage picnic baskets (also serving no purpose) so I pile the three on top of one another, stuck it in the blank spot and LOVE it. Best part.. didn't spend a dime!

Same Boy. Same Pose. Different Dog. 5 years later.

This photo was taken of Jack on his second Easter (15 months old) in 2004 with our dog, Ranger by Colleen Rosenthal.

Today Jack asked me to take a photo of he and Billie. When I saw this one I immediately thought of the picture taken on Easter 5 years ago. It was eerily similar so of course I had to blog about it.

The seedling project Part 2.

The sunflowers in their new home. They were ready from direct sunlight. I hope our dogs don't butcher them, they have an obsession with eating peat pots I buried these extra deep and saturated them in hopes of deceiving the dogs.

Some of the corn sprouting away.
The Pumpkins from last year keep coming! Every day a new sprout!

Cash -vs- the Blue Jay.

The Stare Down.
Cash just thinks it's amusing to chase and bark at birds so he has no idea that this Mama bird is protecting her goods. Her nest with maturing babies in a tree in our neighbors yard that over looks our yard.
She tries to disguise herself as she stalks Cash. But I caught on to her disguise. I tried to get a photo of her Babe's with no luck. Maybe tomorrow.
